The symposium

Organised by AREBio, Association de Recherche en Épidémiologie et en Biodiversité, the CIB-5 – Entre Terre et Mer symposium will be held from 9 to 12 December 2026. It will bring together researchers, academics, students and regional stakeholders around the issues surrounding green biodiversity, the interfaces between terrestrial and marine environments, and the environmental, health and societal dynamics specific to Martinique's ecosystems.

This fifth edition will offer a programme built around keynote lectures, scientific papers, thematic workshops, posters, screenings and field trips. The symposium aims to foster an interdisciplinary approach to the relationships between biodiversity, scientific innovation, environmental health, ecological transition and the development of local resources.

New for the 2026 edition

Two innovations to widen the reach of the symposium and public engagement.

Digital poster vote

Posters are presented in audiovisual format — a 3 to 5 minute video — and put to an online public vote. Two prizes will be awarded.

Parallel workshops

Thematic workshops run alongside the scientific sessions: artificial intelligence, modern methods of biodiversity analysis, and aromatherapy.
